    Andy,

Is it possible for the selections/results on HRSC to show if the horse was the SP/BFSP favourite at the off ?

    Thanks.

    John.

It's possible, of course. Would require me to write something in order to establish it, though as it's not something the Betfair data includes.

Shouldn't be too difficult... I seem to remember saying that a few times before, though. :)

    Andy,

Reason is I'm trialling two systems which are Fav. based and it's a pain in the arse checking the status of the runners but then not being able to record them on HRSC for future comparison etc.

    Basically, I'm a lazy fecker.

    Thanks.

    John.

OK. I've managed to put something into the database to indicate the BSP favourite. The problem I have with this stuff now is that we basically have 3 years of data in the database so it takes an age to go through it all... but it's done.

Now I have to make it do something meaningful/useful in the testing area. Am thinking something similar to how the filters work so you can choose to show Faves Only/Without Faves/Both.

This will take a bit of time but I'll see how I get on with it this week.

EDIT: for now, faves are indicated by an "f" next to the price in the System Testing Area.

Cheers Andy and thanks...you're a star.

I've also been wondering if it's possible to include each individual jockey's natural weight so we can see how much 'dead weight' a horse carries, plus the jockey's age - older ones may be past it, young ones not yet at full strength for instance. Is this possible ?

Additionally, if you could include the colour of each horse - I like betting greys - so we could then tell at a glance if bays/chestnuts/greys etc., win more races exponentially etc.

I'll leave you to get on with it then.

    Many thanks.

    Cheers.
Yeah... I've got all that slotted in to do over Christmas... :dessie:

Seriously though I can't see many (read: none) of those suggestions being implemented any time soon. It's not just the time to implement it, it's a question of gathering the data.

Oops... it still points to the fav, though. Just a matter of me putting the "f" in the correct table column.

I'll sort it but I've done nothing on it today and I'm out tomorrow so it will be a few more days yet.

OK. This should be working in the System Testing Area (back systems only at this stage) and with Presets.

Had a few problems with Presets following this but I *think* it's ok now but please do let me know asap if you experience any difficulties.

    A little bit of feedback

over the years I have made a profit backing long price h/cp favourites 6/1 plus on the flat.
Newbury, York, Ascot and Doncaster spring to mind.

just checked in the Universal Area - good to see its still profitable over all courses
to limited data. class 1,2,3, prob best.

it didn't seem to work over the jumps ! - will have to check that out :)
